She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Chaney and Daisy Dunkley Chaney; her husband Frank Kirkman; her daughter Debra Kirkman Sawyers; her son-in-law Paul Secrest; and her siblings, Ruby Chaney Puckett, Ray Chaney and Otis Chaney.
She is survived by: her children, Vernice Kirkman Johnson, Evelyn Kirkman Secrest, Glenda Kirkman Mears, Judy Kirkman and Roger Kirkman; her daughter-in-law Nellie; and her sister Rachel Chaney McMillian. She is also survived by son-in-law, Pastor Gary Sawyers; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren.
