He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth H. Hicks Sr. and Mamie Allen Jones; and his siblings, Marshall Hicks, Raymond Hicks, Taylor Hicks, Travis Hicks, Homer Hicks and Elma Partin.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Hicks; his daughter Lisa Hicks; his granddaughter Jessica Badger; his siblings, Carl Hicks (Linda) and Joyce Crowder; and his close friend Earl Ferrell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Transitions Hospice Care 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27607.
