She was predeceased by: her father Litten Elbert Smith; her siblings, Joanne, Vernon, Tom and Howard; her children-in-law, Amanda Benfield, Greg Jones, Willie Spencer and Pritchard; her stepson Ben Cook; her great grandchildren, Adrien and Jaleyha Cordova; and also Ignacio Cordova.
She is survived by: her husband Aaron Vernon "A. V." Cook; and her children, LaTonia Spencer, Debbie Lawson, Jennifer Jones, Rita Freeman, Larry Benfield, Daniel Cook, Jon Cook (Kim) and Aaron Cook (Lisa). She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; five sisters; and three brothers.
