It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Woody of Morganton, North Carolina, who passed away on December 9, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jason Woody and Eddie Penley Woody; his former wife Lotus Woody; his daughter Peggy Reese; and his grandson David Burleson.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Woody; his children, Lydia Price of Nebo, Helen Umphlett (Michael) of Nebo, Linda Burleson (Paul) of Nebo, Lisa Deyton (Ray) of Morganton and Roy Randall Woody of Morganton; his stepchildren, Daryl Bolick (Juanita) of Morganton, Kathy Townsend (Roland) of Taylorsville and Connie Danner (Ronnie) of Taylorsville; and his brother Joe Woody of Morganton. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
