It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard James Collings of Morganton, North Carolina, who passed away on November 2, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton H. Collings, Jr. and Jean Ladmore Collings; and his brother John Russell Collings. He is survived by: his stepmother Gertrude Miller Collings; his children, Kelly Collings Hawkins (Seth) of Morganton, NC, Michael Collings (Katherine) of Sylva, NC and Kirsten Collings (Mark Hays) of Washington, DC; his grandchildren, Ethan, Kai and Noah Hawkins; his children, Olivia, Walter, Sebastian, Martha, Isaiah, Victor, Gabriel Collings, Calliope and Daphne Collings-Hays; and his sister Adreena Anderson (Tom) of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
As the service will be indoors, we ask that everyone wear a mask and observe social distancing.
