She was predeceased by: her parents, Iverson "Buddy" Whisenant and Marie Epley Whisenant; her daughter Connie Cowfer Davis; and her sisters, Mabel Whisenant and Doris Hurst.
She is survived by: her husband Russell Lee Cowfer of Morganton; her grandchildren, Carla Evans (Jason) of Simpsonville, SC, Derrick Davis of Morganton and Brittany Setser (Ben) of Morganton; her great grandchildren, Jaxon Evans, Jadon Evans, Menzi Hlophe, Rylee Davis and Gabie Setser; and her siblings, Betty Jean Taylor of Morganton, Wayne Whisenant (Susan) of Morganton, Mary Stillwell of Morganton and Brenda Moses (Lonnie) of Morganton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
