He was predeceased by: his father Arthur Junior Abernathy; and his brother Steve Abernathy. He is survived by: his mother Helen Mae Epley Abernathy; his wife Mary Waycaster Abernathy; his son Josh Abernathy; his grandson Grayson Abernathy; and his brothers, Carl and James Abernathy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
