He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Arthur Epley and Annie Estelle Page Epley; his siblings, Ernest Epley, Lee Roy Epley, Annie Sue Gragg and Mary Elizabeth Epley; and his grandchildren, Brandy Clark and Jamie Houck.
He is survived by: his wife Diann Harris Epley; his children, Larry Eugene Epley of Morganton, Terry Epley Minton of Granite Falls and Michelle Epley Roper (Scott) of Morganton; his stepchildren, Teresa Setzer (Tracy) of Drexel, William Murphy Jr. of Valdese and Regina Hackney (Darryl) of Morganton; and his sister Linda Bryant. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren.
