He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal Fortune and Ophelia Fortune of Morganton; and his wife Wanda Rabon Fortune. He is survived by: his children, Kendra Walker (Jason) of Monticello, Kelli Fillyaw (Mike) of Monticello and Kenneth Wayne Fortune Jr. of Monticello; his siblings-in-law, Sharon Boland and Bill Rabon (Carlene); and his grandchildren, Kristen, Cody, Kaylee Walker, Jadyn, Jaret Kinsey and Tori Fortune. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
