He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Franklin and Ella Moore Deaton; his former wife Irene Berry Deaton; his son Dennis Deaton; his grandsons, Ricky Davis, David Brown and Jose Rodriguez; his daughter-in-law Julia Deaton; his siblings, Myrtle Epley, Martha Smith, Junior Deaton and James Deaton; his children, Millie Davis (Jesse), Carolyn Brown and Melvin Deaton (Ben); his stepdaughters, Cathy Marshall and Lisa Yoder; his siblings, Rev. Tex Deaton and Mary Moore (Ed); his sister-in-law Hallie Deaton; and his daughter-in-law Becky Deaton. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
