He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Phillip Searcy and Gertrude Atchley Searcy; and his stepmother Annie Sue Hill Searcy. He is survived by: his wife Ruby; his sons, Dean Searcy (Anita), Bryan Searcy (Annette) and Chad Searcy (Meredith); his grandchildren, Jesse (Carla), Carson, Mason Katy Ann (Stephanie), Gabriel, Jacob and Isaac; his great grandchildren, Elena and Eva; and his siblings, Worth Searcy (Pauline), Phillip Searcy, Jr., Martha Holden, Carolyn Teno (John) and Myra Moore (Roger). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Searcy Scholarship Fund at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 2239 NC 181, Morganton, NC 28655, Boy Scout Troop 199, or to Carolina Caring.
