He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank E. Simpson and Evelyn Watson Simpson; his wife Earlene Poteet Simpson; his sons, Kenneth Simpson and Ivey "Dean" Simpson; his granddaughter Sandy Simpson; his siblings, Bobby Simpson, Vivian Beach and Annie Bradshaw; and his close friend Lois Morgan.
He is survived by: his daughter Evelyn Simpson Austin (Paul); his grandchildren, Lisa Morgan, Doug Morgan, Sherry Taylor (Eric), Timmy Simpson and Kenny Simpson, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Summer Benfield (David), Morgan Wilson, Timmy Simpson, Jr., Ashlynn Simpson, Micah Simpson, Samantha Owens (Cameron), Matthew Taylor and Heather Morgan; his great great grandchild Kenlynn Wilson; and his daughter-in-law Mary Simpson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
