He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Landon Foster and Mary Ann Alexander Foster; his sister Helen Andrews; and his daughter-in-law Monica. He is survived by: his wife Connie Boswell Foster; his children, Kathy Shelley (Michael) and Bryan Foster; his grandchildren, Jon-Michael and Kaity Shelley; his brother Ivey Foster; and his niece Janice Owens.
