George Robert Rakestraw Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Robert Rakestraw of Morganton, North Carolina, who passed away on August 15, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Rakestraw and Ethel Rakestraw; his wife Kay Frances Rakestraw; and his siblings, Joe Rakestraw, Eugene Rakestraw, Carrie Winchester, Willie Mae Norwood, Grace Winchester, Sarah Sowell, Louise Walker and Leola Avery.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cathy Rakestraw and Gwendolyn Rakestraw Owens (Ronald); his grandchildren, Ronnise Owens, Karawn Owens and Tyron Rutherford; his great grandchildren, Armaun and Jaidyn Owens; and his brother Isaiah Rakestraw. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and other extended family.
Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, the family requests that all attendees wear a mask.
