He was predeceased by: his father Bill Williams; his son Clifton Williams; and his siblings, Carl Williams, Jessie Causby, Geraldine Cooper and Jan Lail.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Williams of Asheville, Sandra Poarch of Caldwell County, Vickie Hubbard (David) of Morganton, Deana Scarboro (Michael) of Morganton and Robin Spann (Keith) of Morganton; and his siblings, Herman Williams of Hickory, Judy Denton (Mark) of Drexel and Christine Woodard (Gary) of Valdese. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
