It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Motes Jr. (Morehead City, North Carolina), born in Westerly, Rhode Island, who passed away on September 16, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Motes Sr. and Lillian Dionne Motes; his son Steven Motes; his daughters-in-law, Pat Motes and Teresa Motes; and his siblings, Charles Motes (Rita), Leroy Motes, Lillian Motes, Marie Motes and Philomene Pragluski.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Ward Motes; his sons, Gervase Motes of Newport, NC and Brian Motes of Chesterfield, VA; and his daughter-in-law Sonya Motes of Lexington, SC. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid 19, space will be limited as social distancing and masks will be required at the service.
