She was predeceased by: her father Elmer; her son Joseph Francis Nicholas Jr.; her stepfather Justin Robinson; and her brother Elmer F. Nelson Jr.. She is survived by: her son Justin "Frank" Nicholas of Morehead City.

In addition to her parents, Sybil was preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph Francis Nicholas Jr.; stepfather, Justin Robinson; and brother, Elmer F. Nelson Jr.
