She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnnie Willis and Josephine Willis; her brother Dennis Willis; and her close friend William "Bill" VanHorn. She is survived by: her son Plymouth Dingess (Melissa Phillips) of Cape Carteret; her siblings, Patsy Smith of Havelock, Christine Yates of Havelock, Donna Lowery of Newport and Johnnie Willis Jr. (Debbie) of Hubert; her granddaughter Cayden Dingess of Cape Carteret; her former husband William "Will" Dingess of Swansboro; and her close friend Jeanine Norman of Morehead City.
