He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Marvin Howell and Juanita Bloodworth Howell of Rocky Mount; and his wife Deborah Winters Howell. He is survived by: his sons, Jonathan Howell (Kristal) of Boone and David Howell (Meredith) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Chloe, Sophie Howell of Boone and Ay-Day; his brothers, Stanley Howell of Harkers Island and Philip Howell (Karol) of Pamlico County; and his sister-in-law Linda Ennis of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by one niece and numerous nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
