She was predeceased by: her parents, Veto Willis and Rita Willis; her husband Samuel "Big Sammy" Keith Guthrie Sr.; her son Vincent Kory Guthrie; and her sister Beverly Kay Willis.

She is survived by: her children, Dana Avery (Keith) of Newport, Samuel "Little Sammy" Guthrie Jr. of Morehead City and Troy Guthrie (Julie) of Newport; her sister Paula O'Neal (Tom) of Swansboro; her grandsons, TJ Guthrie Jr. (Sabrina) and Vincent Avery; her great grandchildren, Daphne Lupton and Laine Lupton; and her nephews, Kory O'Neal and Tommy O'Neal.
