It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sam Moorefield Jr. in Morehead City, North Carolina, who passed away on March 22, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel P Moorefield, Sr. and Zoa Long Moorefield; his wife Betty Black Moorefield; and his daughter Mary Ann Moorefield. He is survived by: his children, Thomas P. Moorefield (Dianne) of Siler City, NC, Patricia M. Gilbert (Durral) of Oak Island, NC and Kathryn L. Moorefield of Pine Knolls, NC; his grandchildren, Rachel Moorefield Hidalgo, Jesse Moorefield, Annie Moorefield, Sam Moorefield, Mary Catherine Gilbert and Peyton Gilbert; and his great grandchildren, Oscar Hidalgo, Julian Montes, Isabel Vazquez and Gabriela Vazquez.
