We are sad to announce that on February 9, 2025, at the age of 87, Ruby Gretchen Matthews Snyder of Morehead City, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dutch Matthews and Ruby Matthews; her sister Frances Roberson (Bob); and her brother-in-law Robert Register. She is survived by: her husband Joseph Harris; her children, Debi Thomas of Morehead City and Joe Harris Jr. of Atlantic Beach; her stepdaughters, Donna Polito of West Chester, PA and Lisa Chadwick (Ricky) of Harkers Island; her grandchildren, Tyler Thomas (Christine), Brooke Lupton (Hunter), Dan Polito (Jackie), Alex Polito (Carly), Wesley Chadwick and Fisher Harris; her great grandchildren, Gracen Thomas, Finn Lupton, McKinley Lupton and Evelyn Thomas; her sister Wanda Register; and her nieces and nephews, Beth Trainer (Mike), Melissa Register, Matt Roberson (Cindy) and Rob Register.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Harkers Island Methodist Church (603 Cape Lookout Dr, Harkers Island, NC 28531).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Carteret County Public School Foundation, 107 Safrit Drive, Beaufort, NC 28516, or to the Harkers Island Methodist Church, 603 Cape Lookout Dr., Harkers Island, NC 28531.
