She was predeceased by: her parents, J. D. Dickens and Eulala Powell Dickens. She is survived by: her husband Gerald V. Phillips; her children, Carrie P. Young (Charles Edwards) of Morehead City, Gerald V. Phillips Jr. (Carol) of Youngsville, NC and David C. Phillips (Linda) of Newport; and her grandchildren, Dr. Jason Elliot, Commander Johnathan Elliot, MD, Gerald V. Phillips III, Mark A. Phillips, Sarah P. Morris and Megan P. Atkinson. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
