He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vick Mooring and Mary Ezzell Mooring; his son Mark Mooring; and his siblings, Ray Mooring, Durwood Mooring, Helen Aycock, Charles Mooring, John "Pete" Mooring, Harold Mooring and Dan Mooring.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Lancaster Mooring; his children, Rhonda Keefer (Gary), Andrea Beth Pender (Dean) and Kevin Whitfield; his grandchildren, Aaron Keefer (Jessica), Chad Keefer and Lainey Overton; and his siblings, William "Bill" Mooring, Richard Mooring and Wilma Monson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
