He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Henry Madsen and Evelyn Bergstrom Foley; his former wife Margaret Mary Davis of Hanson, MA; his wife Mary Calhoun Madsen of Newport, NC.; his sons, Michael Richard Madsen (Pamela Small Madsen) of Newport, NC and David Carl Madsen (Stacie Chapman Madsen) of Franklinton, NC.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Alyse Madsen and Taylor Alyssa Madsen of Newport, NC.; and his sisters, Kathleen Foley White and Patricia Foley Barron.
