She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Gaskill and Vergie Gaskill; her grandparents, Romain, Gladys Gaskill, Albert and Dorothy Gaskill; her sister Bonnie Gaskill Riegel; and her nephew Philip Willis Jr..

She is survived by: her husband Melvin C. Hunnings; her children, Susan H. Perkins (Chuck) of Stuarts Draft, VA and Robert Hunnings of Raleigh; her sister Deborah Gaskill Whittington (Don) of Dunn; her brother-in-law Bruce Riegel of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Scott Perkins, Michael Perkins, Jessica Perkins and Rachel Perkins; and her nieces and nephews, Stephanie Hancock (Mark), Alyssa Willis, Donna Morton (Jim), Preston Henry, Phillip Whittington, Connor Morton and William Morton.
