He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clyde James and Lola James; his wife Jane Sloop James; his daughters, Vicki Carroll of Morehead City and Susan Goodson (Andy) of Morehead City; his grandsons, Richie Cuningham (Christina), Drew Goodson and Adam Goodson; and his great grandchildren, Baker and Sykes Cuningham.

In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in memory of Mr. Paul James to the Crystal Coast Hospice House at P.O. Box 640, Newport, NC 28570.
