He was predeceased by: his parents, Mona Yates and Clarendon Yates; and his wife Judy Willis Yates. He is survived by: his children, Norman Yates Jr., Jason Yates, Julie Fink, Sherry Forbes, Donovan Yates and Angel Yates; and his siblings, John, Edgar Yates and Joann Burger. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
