He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Hoard and Emma Hoard. He is survived by: his children, Stacey Stagich (Jason) of Plano, TX, Ember Martin (Karl) of Honolulu, HI and Damon Hoard of Metuchen, NJ; his sister Susan Hoard Stroud (Kenneth) of Tarboro, NC; his grandchildren, Randy, Ryan, Taylor, Landon, Emerson and Peyton; and his nieces and nephews, Nancy Deeck, Tred Parry and Emily Garner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Disabled American Veterans at 1025 Harbour Pointe Dr., New Bern, NC 28560.
