He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin E. Haas and Emma Smith Haas. He is survived by: his wife Bertha Springle Haas; his children, Vicky Haas Bartlett of Grisham, Beatrice "Kay" K. Harkey (Charley) of Newport, Marvin E. "Eddy" Haas III (Cathy) of New Bern and Richard P. Haas (Valerie) of Newport; his sister Gladys Wheeler Range of Beaufort; his brother-in-law James D. Springle of Moncure; and his close friends, Jack Doyle and Alana Counts. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at 1025 Harbour Pointe Dr., Havelock NC 28532.
