He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Billy Ricks, George Peter Stafford and Marie Gillikin Stafford. He is survived by: his parents, Jim Stafford and Sheree Stafford of Morehead City; his daughters, Jamison "Ivey" Stafford of Newport and June Makaira Stafford of Morehead City; his brother Nathan Scott Stafford (Emily Sledge) of Morehead City; his grandmother Janice Ricks; his niece Allison "Sonni" James Stafford; and his nephew Nathaniel Scott Stafford Jr..
