He is survived by: his mother Valerie Dawn Hester of Morehead City; his wife Roxanne Hester; his children, Laura, Roxanne Hester, Gregory Yancey of Morehead City, Marcus Yancey of Virginia and Jonathan Hester Jr. (Shanice) of Havelock; his siblings, Anthony Hester (Lois) of Gloucester, Alvin Jones Jr. (Sheila) of Havelock, Quincey Jones, Tony Jones of Newport and Haleigh Jones of Morehead City; and his grandchildren, Alayah, Jonathan, Tabitha, Gianna, Olivianna, Mia, Adalynn, Camdyn, Malikah and Elijah. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
His unwavering work ethic and a deep commitment and dedication to his craft were admired by all who knew him, and his contributions to his family and the community were so significant.
