It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Marie Asbjornsen Stanley of Morehead City, North Carolina, who passed away on February 17, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Madelyn Radwick Asbjornsen and Thomas Asbjornsen; and her brother Thomas (Buddy). She is survived by: her children, Hope Hoffman of Downingtown, PA, Yvette Benedict of Williston, NC, Stewart Benedict of Newport, NC and Thomas Stanley of West Chester, PA; her stepdaughter Jodi Mendelsohn (Bill Lentz) of Topsham, ME; her siblings, Sigrid Giordano and Norman Asbjornsen; and her grandchildren, Tara Godwin, Deidra Spickelmier, Audrey Miller, Adrienne Knievel, David, Ezra Meyers, Ryan, William and Mia Stanley. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, and cousins.
