He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Redfern and Myrtle Redfern of Canton; and his brother Marvin "Sonny" Hooks. He is survived by: his wife Susan H. McIntyre-Redfern; his sons, Cameron W. Redfern of Raleigh, NC and Jonathan D. Redfern (Melissa); his grandsons, Jackson and Reid of Morehead City; his son Andrew N. Redfern (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Madeline, Nash and Bryan of Franklinton, NC.; his sister-in-law Darby McIntyre; and his caregiver Roger E. Carter.
Flowers are welcome, however in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Colonial Capital Humane Society, New Bern, NC or the Carteret County Humane Society, Newport, NC.
