It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Dukes Davenport Peterson of Morehead City, North Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on November 25, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Jean Dukes Davenport farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Jean Dukes Davenport is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Trammell and Jeanette Dukes Davenport. She is survived by: her brother Bill Trammell Davenport, Jr. (Katie); her children, Shannon Peterson Miller (Kevin) of Cape Carteret and Everette Lindsay "Lin" Peterson, III (Megan) of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Trammell Miller, Everett Michael Peterson and Verdie Dukes Peterson. She is also survived by cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the First Methodist Church (900 Arendell St, Morehead City, NC 28557).
