As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Horace may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his mother Mary E. Rountree; his wife Kathleen Veldon Lewis (Kay); and his son Horace Elton Rountree, Jr. of Morehead City. He is survived by: his sons, William R. Rountree of Morehead City, Dr. Rodney A. Rountree of East Falmouth, MA, Peter A. Rountree of Newport and David A. Rountree (John K. Rountree). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Noe-Brooks Funeral Home (201 Professional Cir, Morehead City, NC 28557). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Gethsemane Memorial Park (700 NC-24, Newport, NC 28570).
