He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Davis and Katherine Davis; his wife Jackie Davis; and his brother Peter Davis. He is survived by: his son Gus Louis Davis III; his grandsons, Tyler Davis and Cooper Davis; his brothers, Louis James "Buddy" Davis (Pat) and William John "Johnny" Davis (Kathy); his sisters-in-law, Mary Davis, Rachel Waters Craddock and Helen Waters Bass; and his nieces and nephews, Dr. Julianne Davis, Melissa Craddock, Mary Worthington, Ann Wilde, Jay Davis and Preston Craddock.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Munden Funeral Home & Crematory (2112 Arendell St, Morehead City, NC 28557). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
