It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordon Wallace Thayer of Morehead City, North Carolina, who passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Oliver Thayer and Ann Campbell Thayer of Braintree, Massachusetts.; his sister Susann Thayer Smart; his brother-in-law Ron; his niece Cheryl; and his sister-in-law Janet Flood.
He is survived by: his wife Katharyn Mayes Thayer; his son Ronald Gordon Thayer (Kristen Dye); his grandchildren, Kyle, Jake, Emmy, Jackson and McKenna; his brother Bruce Campbell Thayer (Pamela Jenness) of Mirror Lake, NH; his sister-in-law Sharon Victoria Mayes of Largo, FL.; and his nieces, Cadence Anne Proctor, Lisa Smart Hansen-Viglotti and Victoria Elizabeth Flood. He is also survived by four grand-nieces and nephews.
