She was predeceased by: her parents, Rolland Mathews and Gwladys Mathews; her great-grandparent Gladys; her husband David Roger Pearson Sumner; and her siblings, Jane Dudas and Jack Mathews.
She is survived by: her children, Dorothy "Dee" Phillips (Richard) of Cedar Point, NC, Mark Sumner (Deborah) of Grand Manan, New Brunswick and Daniel Sumner (Toni) of Hernando, FL; her grandchildren, Tanya Molnar (Skip), Michael Sumner (Robyn), Kelly Dodge (Nate), Gilliand Small, Emma Grant (Matt), David Sumner (Kristen) and Taylor Barfield; and her great grandchildren, Emma Dodge, Lily Dodge, Kaitlyn Dodge, Kelsey Molmar, Thomas Molmar, Weston Small, Honey Small, Lochlan Small, Finlay Antworth and Andrew Sumner.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Munden Funeral Home & Crematory (2112 Arendell St, Morehead City, NC 28557).
