He was predeceased by: his former wife Ellen Burke; his parents, Robert Thompson and Ilver Foster; and his brother Keith Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his son Michael Heisey (Christine); his brother Bryant Thompson; his stepchildren, Melanie Holt (William) and Michael Braddy; his grandchildren, Jamie East (Adam), Michael Heisey Jr. (Caitlin) and Julia Heisey; his great grandchildren, Bayleigh, Charlie Kate and Cash; his great great grandchild Cohen; his stepgrandchildren, Haley, Olivia, Charlie, Tia and Gage; his siblings-in-law, Linda Thompson, Dennis Burke and Sam Austin; his pet Sam; and his caregivers, Arlene, Cathy, Cindy and Susan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the First Baptist Church (810 Bridges St, Morehead City, NC 28557).
