He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Whitmore and Eleanor Getsey Whitmore. He is survived by: his children, Hunter of Morehead City and Celeste of New Bern, NC.; and his siblings, Robert Brooks Whitmore (Jennifer) of Ashland, OH and Connie Whitmore Cartmell (Ohlen P. Cartmell) of Marietta, OH. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and several adult step children.
