He was predeceased by: his parents, Rupert Andrew Anderegg and Maybelle Davis Anderegg; and his brothers, Rupert Andrew Anderegg Jr. (Jane) and James Anderegg (Florence "Ronnie"). He is survived by: his wife MaryLena Anderegg of Morehead City; his sons, David Louis Anderegg Jr. (Andrea) of Atlanta, GA, Joshua Davis Anderegg (Jessica) of Pittsburg, PA and Akira Sasahra (Annette) of Tokyo, Japan; and his brother Richard Anderegg (Pamela) of San Antonio, TX.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
