It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Merrill (Morehead City, North Carolina), who passed away on October 3, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Maurice Dozier Lewis and Julia G. Lewis; her grandmothers, GiGi and Betty; her children, Julia Marice Eskew (Frank) of Havelock, Beverly Rae Edwards of Morehead City, John Kenneth Merrill and Daniel Scott Merrill of Havelock; her grandchildren, Luther Lewis, Joseph Scruggs, Misti Taylor, Mary Magara, Darby West, Kelby West, Matthew Edwards, Bethani Murray, Alisha Girard, Kayla Merrill, Jonathan Merrill, Mike Eskew, Paul Eskew, Robert Eskew, Heather Hobbs, Emily Penny, Jason Barbour, Tabitha Hinson, William Guy, Paul Guy and Daylon Guy; her great grandchildren, Noah, Joseph, Joshua of Adrianna, JT, Skylar, Daxton, Tiana, Bubba, Israel, Aaron, Aleigh, Devin, Grace, Jace, Ryan, Cameron, Luke, Christopher, Austin, Angie, Candace, Paula, Brandon, Kailey, Chris, Madison, Juliet and Alayna; her great great grandchildren, Brayleigh, Raylan, Maddie, Xoe, Izzabella, Owen, Samuel, Lilly, Wyatt, Charlotte, Sophia, Jabari, Jacobi, Cooper, Carson and Elysia; her sister Beadie G. Perry of Newport; her niece Elizabeth Perry Byrd of Raleigh; her nephews, Billy Perry of Newport and Steven Perry of Morehead City; her aunt Esther Lee Gardner of Birmingham, AL.; her children, David Wright West, James Maurice West and Robin Elaine West; and her granddaughter Mary Courtney West. She was also cherished by her parents but also her Maternal grandparents and her Maternal Uncle.
