She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Bell and Maggie Bell; and her sister Catherine Bell Hester. She is survived by: her husband Tyree Brown; her stepson Tyree Johnson of New Bern; her sister Claudia Bell of Morehead City, NC; her nieces, Felicia Jones (William) of Raleigh, NC and Katrina Montaque of Morehead City, NC; her great-niece Jelisa Irving (Travis); her great-nephews, Willie J. Montaque and Ronald Montford; and also Marvion Smith. She is also survived by other cousins and friends.
