He was predeceased by: his parents, James Virgil and Alma Nance Barnette; his son Ted Barnette, Jr.; and his siblings, Lois Smithey, Ronie Pennell, Violet Combs, Royal, Hobert, Herman, Sanford, Ralph and Ebb Barnette.
He is survived by: his daughter Juanita Lawing of China Grove; his grandchildren, Shane Huneycutt, Chad Huneycutt and Angelina Litaker; his great grandchildren, Able Huneycutt, Chad Huneycutt, Jr. and Adler Litaker; his great great grandchildren, Riley Huneycutt and Aubree Huneycutt; and his siblings, Bonnie Shumate of Moravian Falls and Howard Barnette of Moravian Falls. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
