He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Souther and Goldie Moore Souther; his wife Mildred Thelma Tedder Souther; and his siblings, Lela Jones, Rachel Robinson, Narvey, Paris, Freddie and Eugene Souther.
He is survived by: his son Joseph Arnold Souther of Moravian Falls; and his siblings, Julia Steelman of Wilkesboro, Stella Marshall of Winston-Salem and Dewitt Souther of North Wilkesboro.
