She was predeceased by: her parents, Commie Pruitt and Carrie Ella Billings Pruitt; her husband Albert Gwyn Shumate; her daughter Judy Ann Eller; and her grandsons, Justin Lee Eller and Marty Gwyn Shumate.
She is survived by: her daughters, Pauline Johnson (Tony) of North Wilkesboro, Wanda Shew (Danny) of Wilkesboro and Reba Bumgarner (Dicky) of Moravian Falls; her grandchildren, Ethan Ray Whiddon, Katie Shew, Chance Johnson, Chad Shew, Christy Shew, Justin Bumgarner, Kierstin Bumgarner and Cydney Hill; and her great grandchildren, Jacob Shew, Savannah Shew, Rowan Shew, Jaylyn Rhoades, Hudson Rhoades, Abi Hart, Raven Wyatt, Delaney Reedy and Jackson Reedy.
