He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dean Bauguess and Nova Richardson. He is survived by: his wife Karen Lynn Johnson Bauguess; his children, Ashley Christy, Amy Pierce of Advance, James Bauguess Jr. (Shannon Dennis) of Moravian Falls and David Johnson of Winston; his siblings, Paula Sharpe of Moravian Falls, Elaine, Sarah Whittington of Millers Creek, Ann Mitchell of North Wilkesboro and Ralph Bauguess (Judy) of Hays; and his niece Pamela Darnell Whittington of Boomer. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews and 11 grandchildren.
