He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Lloyd and Hassie Hayes Carlton; and his siblings, Flossie Carlton, Frederick Carlton and Edward Lee Carlton.
He is survived by: his siblings, Dorothy M. Carlton, Elsie Barnes of Moravian Falls, Everette Carlton of Boomer and Ervin Carlton (Gloria) of Moravian Falls; and his nephew Robert "Snoop" Barnes of Moravian Falls. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
