He was predeceased by: his parents, John Minton and Laura Tedder Minton; his daughter Barbara Day; and his siblings, J. D. Minton, William Minton, Grace Lovette, Christine Smithey, Geneva Minton, Virginia Minton, Mildred Smithey, Dorothy Wayne and Betty Smithey.
He is survived by: his son Ricky G. Minton (Dorothy) of Newton; his grandson Joshua Minton (Ofelia) of Newton; his great grandchildren, Aaron Morgan of Newton and Darius Minton of Newton; his daughters, Carolyn Clemmons (Randy) of Taylorsville and Linda Lineback of Boomer; his nieces, Kathy Goforth of Mt. Pleasant and Nancy Russell of Moravian Falls; and his nephew Perry Smithey of Moravian Falls. He is also survived by several other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
